Words have the power to shape our thoughts, beliefs, and actions. They can inspire us to overcome challenges, motivate us to reach for our dreams, and remind us of our inherent worth.

DECLARATIONS ARE NOT AFFIRMATIONS

It is important to note that provided within this blog post are declarations, not affirmations.

Affirmations, by definition, are supposed to affirm what you already believe to be true. That’s great if you do believe what you are saying.

But, in my experience coaching women, the subconscious mind has a sneaky way of rejecting what it doesn’t believe. And the hidden inner conflict between what you say and what you believe can make it difficult to embody the words.

THE GOAL OF DECLARATIONS

Embodiment is the aim. Not mere lip service.

If you’ve ever tried affirmations before and found them difficult to live into, then you’ve probably felt the conflict I’m talking about.

Declarations, on the other hand, don’t presuppose that you believe the statement. It is a strong statement about what you desire to bring into existence and lean into by conscious choice. It is already true in many cases. By saying them, you call forward your future self, literally bringing your future self into the NOW.

The reason that declarations are powerful is because…

Declarations don’t require belief. For declarations to be successful, the only requirement is consistency until you do believe it.

The declarations presented here are designed to encourage you to believe in yourself, trust your timing, and ignite your inner strength to create a life experience that serves you.

This list is not prescriptive. Use the ones that most resonate with you and your unique journey. Feel free to write your own.

Whether you choose to write them down, display them in your workspace, or share them with friends and loved ones, incorporating empowering declarations into your daily life can have a profound impact on your mindset and how you create yourself in the world.

HOW TO USE THESE DECLARATIONS

  1. First, select the ones that most resonate with who you desire to be. In a sense, you are speaking your future self into existence.
  2. Write your selected declarations somewhere that you can see them every day.
  3. Say them out loud (while looking in the mirror, preferably) and notice how each one feels. Notice the energy that the statement gives you.
  4. When you have a decision to make, repeat your declarations before choosing a course. (You may find that your declarations inform your choice, powerfully reminding you of how you choose to show up in the world.)
  5. Aim to repeat them every day for 7 days. Feel free to memorize them so that you can say them at any time that you want confidence to be in the energy that the statement gives you.
  6. After 7 days, journal about which statements feel true, which ones you will continue, and which ones you will discontinue. Write about anything else that feels resonant for you.

A QUICK TIP

Try to notice if a statement feels “off” or silly. Notice which statements make you feel resistance or guilt. Also, notice which statements feel 100% right. Whatever you feel is perfect.

The most important benefit of declarations is to notice all of what you “see” (or sense) so that you can change what you do not like. After all, you cannot change what you do not see.
